WestJet has signed a multi-year deal with software provider Accelya to support the airline’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) with the FLX platform.

Accelya announced the partnership in a July 22 press release, which stated that the “agreement will power WestJet’s strategy to deliver guest-centric retailing and distribution, with a focus on best-in-class servicing and flexibility enabling guests to book via the channel of their choice.”

Accelya’s new FLX platform, which the company launched in June, can generate more than 350,000 personalized offers per second, and links airlines to over 70,000 travel advisors, including the world’s largest online travel agencies (OTAs) and travel management companies (TMCs). The platform is powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud technology.

Sam Gilliland, Accelya’s CEO, said in the statement, “We are delighted to add WestJet as a partner enabling them to take control of their distribution and retailing future. Accelya [is] focused on delivering an innovative and scalable modern retailing experience for airlines moving on the Offer and Order transformation journey.”

The news sheds light on WestJet’s NDC strategy going forward.

“WestJet is focused on delivering an exceptional guest experience grounded on servicing standards and flexibility, and the Accelya FLX Platform will be instrumental in achieving this goal,” said Jorge Rozo, WestJet vice president, pricing, revenue & distribution. “We are excited to partner with Accelya and leverage their expertise in driving real NDC adoption that translates into benefits for all of our guests and partners.”
